Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a professional image in speech and actions that represents Christlikeness and the purpose of the church.
- Have the health and physical capacity to stoop, climb and lift. Can observe and interact both visually and audibly with toddlers & preschoolers.
- Background check with fingerprinting and CPR/First Aid certification training required.
- Detail-oriented and able to organize, prioritize and complete the administrative duties of the position effectively and efficiently.
- Able to uphold confidentiality regarding preschool, staff, financial or other sensitive information or issues with whom she/he interacts on and off the job.
- Understands the value and importance of excellent attendance and maintaining consistent preschool hours. Must also be flexible about the schedule at times if the need to change arises.
- Able to provide leadership, vision, and passion for MTP Preschool that is in line with the overall vision and mission of the church.
- Exceptional people skills: listening, communicating, developing trust and rapport. Able to utilize volunteer staff and appreciate that working with and training volunteers is different than working with paid staff.
- Organized, self-motivated and able to motivate others.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to attend training opportunities as necessary.

Expectations:
- Ensure compliance with MTP regulations and policies at all times.
- Establish and design registration process. Track registration of families attending and interested in preschool enrollment.
- Develop overall school calendar schedule and assist with teacher lesson plans as needed.
- Keep track of paperwork, policies and requirements for state licensing and safety (fire) inspections.
- Organize and regularly update student records in the Brightwheel app.
- Effectively responds to and follows-up with inquiries or concerns in a timely manner (preferred: same day; required: by next work day).
- Attend Leadership Council meetings and other meetings as requested to integrate the ministry of the preschool with other MTP ministries.
- With the Preschool Leadership Team, hire, resource, and develop staff. This includes teachers, assistants, and interns.
- In cooperation with the Preschool Leadership Team, develop and manage the preschool budget.
- Approve time submitted from employees via Connecteam app and submit by 10:00 a.m. on Monday of payroll week to the Office Manager.
- Manage staff calendar/schedule for time management (Connecteam app).
- 38 weeks of work during the school year. An additional “4 weeks” time during the summer break is expected for “director responsibilities,” though the 4 weeks’ time will be spread throughout the summer.
- Actively seek and apply for grants on a regular basis.
- Understand the operation of all preschool equipment and repair needs.
- Track, order and arrange for pick-up of snack supplies on a weekly basis.
- Regularly inventory supplies and reorder when needed, ensuring supplies are always available for teachers and classrooms.
- Communicate regularly with parents and keep all parents informed of policies and procedures. Conduct a parent orientation and make arrangements for prospective parents to tour the preschool.
- Mentor teachers and assistants in all areas, exhibiting strong leadership and direction in all situations. Conduct performance reviews of staff each semester, encouraging and providing continuous education.
- Hold a staff “huddle” at the beginning of each week (might include a devotion, prayer, conversation, etc.) prior to the doors being unlocked. Conduct regular staff meetings (at least monthly) and team-building gatherings (2-3/year).
- Will carry out discipline for staff or students as needed.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment so that there is a nurturing culture for students.
- In the event that there is no other substitute available, the Director will substitute in a classroom.
- Participate in additional training and continuing education as needed.
- Some evenings and/or weekends may be required for special events, meetings, etc.

- Reports directly to Preschool Leadership Team and Lead Pastor
- Evaluated twice during the school year by Preschool Leadership Team
